GMS Consulting hosts a network of retired technical and professional experts under the slogan “New Beginning for Retirees – Its not over until its over” REENET is an exclusive platform for retired or soon to retire professional and technical experts who primarily have over 10 years of experience and are veterans in the industry they operate or area of professionalism. Experts must be 75 years old or less when they register. The network was pioneered by GMS Managing Director Mr Gideon Dlamini who himself has over 38 years in the management consulting and training profession spiced with hands on management and business practice across the public, private and NGO sectors. GMS has observed that with life expectancy on an increasing trajectory amongst Emaswati it has become very obvious that many professional and technical experts retire before their peak. On the other hand, many organizations can make good use of these skills on short term contracts or simply technical advice. The experts themselves would cherish contributing their expertise to a wider spectrum on short term contracts. The company believes that the benefit of working post retirement is generally good for physical and mental health and well-being and it also affords the country continued harvest from human capital investment. Seniors who exercise their brain with problem-solving activities are more easily able to fend off common age-related diseases. With the life span of people increasing, the need to earn and be economically sound has also increased. Also, since many skills are lacking in organisations, the REENET program can bridge this gap with a win-win for all.
Through the network, GMS creates a platform for organizations to source short term expertise and for the experts to avail their skills to various market platforms thereby contributing a very rich experience to national development and also earn additional income post-retirement. Membership to the network is open to any sector profession or expertise and similarly this rich pool of experts is open to all sectors of the economy including international assignment.
